Our Keynote Speaker is Mr. Joseph Saluzzi, Partner & Co-Founder of Themis Trading LLC.
Joseph Saluzzi is partner, co-founder and co-head of equity trading of Themis Trading LLC, a leading independent agency brokerage firm that trades equities for institutional money managers and hedge funds. He is also the co-author of Broken Markets — How High Frequency Trading and Predatory Practices on Wall Street are Destroying Investor Confidence.
Mr. Saluzzi is a frequent speaker at industry conferences on issues involving market access, algorithmic trading and other sell- and buy-side concerns. He has provided expert commentary for media outlets such as CBS’s 60 Minutes, BBC Radio, Bloomberg Television & Radio, CNBC, Fox Business, BNN, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Reuters, Associated Press, Los Angeles Times and Bloomberg News. Mr. Saluzzi also has authored articles for Traders Magazine, Dow Jones and Journal of Investment Compliance.
Prior to Themis, Mr. Saluzzi headed the team responsible for equity sales and trading for major institutional accounts at Instinet Corporation for more than nine years. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with an MBA in Finance and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from New York University.

Kevin O’Connor is currently the Head of US Equity Electronic Sales at Barclays in New York. He is also a member of the global electronic equity operating committee playing an integral role in driving our overall electronic client strategy as well as helping shape the overall business strategy.
Prior to joining Barclays, Kevin spent 12 years with Advanced Execution Services (AES) at Credit Suisse where he most recently served as Head of Sales, Americas where he was responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing and distribution strategy for electronic equity product in the Americas. Prior to working at Credit Suisse, Kevin held a number of sales roles at Direct Edge ECN and Toronto Dominion Asset Management in Toronto. Kevin earned a BA in History from The University of Western Ontario Canada and is CFA charter holder.

Managing Director at Goldman Sachs
Amy is global head of Market Structure Strategy for the Securities Division. She serves on the Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC Fixed Income Best Execution Subcommittee and was previously co-head of the Securities Division Women’s Network. Earlier in her career, Amy was in Global Credit Trading. She joined Goldman Sachs in 2006 as an analyst in the Investment Banking Division and was named managing director in 2017. Before joining the firm, Amy worked at UBS.
Amy serves on the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Global Markets Advisory Committee, the board of ICE Clear Credit, and the risk committees of ICE Clear Credit and ICE Clear Europe on behalf of the firm.
Amy earned a BA in Political Science and International Relations from Bucknell University and an MBA from Columbia University, and was awarded the George E.Doty Global Master’s Degree Fellowship.
Gregg E. Berman, Ph.D.
Director of Market Analytics and Regulatory Structure,
Citadel Securities
Gregg Berman is director of the market analytics and regulatory structure unit of Citadel Securities where he focuses on utilizing data and analytics to better inform on a host of advanced topics at the crossroads of market structure, rules, and regulations.
From 2009 to 2015 Mr. Berman served at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, DC, where he established and was associate director of the office of analytics and research in the division of trading and markets. Mr. Berman covered a wide array of areas with a particular focus on market structure data, analytics, and associated rules and regulations ranging from the Consolidated Audit Trail to the Volcker Rule to the new regime for Security-Based Swaps.
Mr. Berman was also a founding partner of New York-based RiskMetrics Group where he primarily served as its head of the risk business (1998-2009). Before joining RiskMetrics, Mr. Berman co-managed a number of multi-asset hedge funds within New York-based ED&F Man.
Mr. Berman is a physicist by training and holds degrees from Princeton University (Ph.D. 1994, M.S. 1989), and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (B.S. 1987).
Mark Davies
Chief Executive Officer, S3
Mark Davies is Co-Founder and CEO of S3, a full-service compliance and trade analytics software. He is responsible for the organization’s business strategy, the executive team, and has oversight of the company’s day-to-day operations, including client relations, sales, and business development.
A financial services executive with over 15 years experience in fintech and regtech, Mr. Davies has deep industry knowledge in trading technology, particularly trade surveillance, best execution analysis, and regulatory reporting. Currently, Mark is leading the industry on market structure and regulatory reporting requirements for the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Rule 606 under Reg NMS and is sought after for his subject matter expertise.
Mr. Davies co-founded S3 in 2002. In 2004, S3 launched its first trading analytics product, redefining S3’s core business. Since then, under Mr. Davies guidance, S3 has improved trust in the industry through appropriate and intelligent disclosure via regulatory reporting and analytics.
Mr. Davies holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and three children.
Mike Gallagher
Director, Trading and Block Desk, TD Ameritrade Institutional
Mr. Gallagher began his trading career on the equity desk at TD Waterhouse in 2001. Over the past 18 years, he’s gained extensive experience in managing trade desks including Retail, Brokerage Operations, and Institutional, while maintaining his reputation for providing superior client service.
In 2010, Mike developed TD Ameritrade’s first Block Trading Desk, creating what is now a specialized service for Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs). Currently, Mr. Gallagher manages a team of 14 traders, specializing in sourcing liquidity for RIAs on large block orders and illiquid ETF trades.
